Duly noted, this has been a pending ticket for now and a ticket for the next release, where you can attach files to a page. We also wanted to create a file repository via the admin, where you can upload and then refer back to files via the file plugin.

Ideally, you don’t want to attach files, but there are some cases, where for example, the document cannot be converted over to a Wiki entry. Take for example, a Visio file, or some other complex diagram. They cannot be converted to images (wont scale), and still are best in their natural formats. It would be nice to have the ability to attach documents inside the Wiki page.
Linking to the file on a common share network server is ideal, but Firefox prohibits linking using the file:///// URL format, whereas IE allows it.
Another issue Management has brought up since deployment…

/wiki/Help:Wiki_Markup.cfm has info on an "upload page" where you can upload images, and then use markup to link to those images. However, no such functionality seems to exist currently, and the text is a copy of Wikipedia’s instructions it seems.
This is turning out to be a deal breaker for us, and I am hoping it can be included soon. Other managers may force me to migrate otherwise to some other software.

Comment (by Sami Hoda):
Yeah, but I don’t know anyone who doesn’t write targets because of strict html, so I found the argument odd. But using JS to scour links is a definite option.

Comment (by Luis Majano):
Hmm, supposedly on the new strict HTML, you cannot use target. So will it make sense to maybe add a class to the link and then via JS add targets to it?

I know, I will have to dig on this one in order to alter that java class. Hopefully I start back on Codex once ColdBox 3 hits Gold.

I can only assume that Bliki support href targets. Right now all links open in the same windows, and there is no way to append target="_blank" to the URL. This can be a nuisance for information intensive companies like ours where links to others sites for research are everywhere.
